It is a great privilege to be asked to share my story with the Voyage Washington Magazine. When I was contacted in July 2026 and asked to participate in a profile on my work, I felt humbled at the opportunity.
Overcoming Obstacles
“Obstacles are part of any creative experience, I believe. At times, I find it challenging to surrender to an interest. I don’t always want to spend the time it takes to follow an idea to completion. I have had strong teachers my whole life who encouraged me. Even after I have a song, a poem, or a story finished, I still find it difficult to decide if and how to share it.
